The Youth Mental Health First Aid Course is for adults who are supporting, working, or living with adolescents (those between 12 and 18 years of age). The program is a guide for those who are the first respondents in situations where an adolescent may be experiencing a mental health crisis.
Completing this course assists Australian Teachers in maintaining accreditation. It will contribute 14 hours of Professional Development in the priority area of Student/child mental health addressing standard descriptors 4.1.2, 4.4.2, and 7.3.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
- Choice of Format:
- 1 session delivered face to face (7 hrs) + 5 to 7 hours self paced e-learning OR
- 2 sessions delivered face to face (each 3.5 hrs) + 5 to 7 hours self paced e-learning OR
- 2 full day sessions (each 7 hours) delivered face to face.
